The master head is bold and red so that the magazine name stands out and promotes the magazine.

Beth Ditto on this magazine is not very feminine as she is not thew usual shape of females on the magazine also she has hairy armpits which is not very feminine.

The background colour that they have used bright yellow makes the viewer very anxious.

Even though the main image is not very feminine it is on the sexual side with Beth Ditto being fully naked  and a huge red lipstick mark on her naked bum cheek, this connotes a lot of sexual nature by the redness of the lipstick and the fact she is completely naked

I am going to analyse this collage magazine

The target audience for this magazine is for collage students. We know this because the master head is called 'Carmel Up Close' and Carmel is a collage in the North West. The cover includes an anchorage text which says 'Carmel is one of the top ten collages in the country'

The magazine engages the target audience by having a a very colourful background and master head that catches the readers eye and connotes a happy atmosphere of the collage.
The priorities of this magazine is to catch the eye of the readers to persuade the readers that carmel collage is fun educational place to go. The cover is trying to get the message that Carmel Collage is a highly respected in the U.K. Anchorage text saying 'result!' which helps the reader understand the main images connotation.

The image that they have used is a medium shot of a female student at the collage looking like she is getting her results which appear to be good by the denotation in her face. A medium shot is used to show the expression in her face and her body language because she is getting her results

The Mise en Scene on this cover is a girl wearing a very young colourful top also the expression in her face is very excited facial expression as most young girls seem to do a lot. All the other students in the background seem to be wearing very plain bland clothing and she is wearing a very colourful top to make her stand out, to me this connotes that Carmel Collage can make you come out as an individual which makes you stand out from the crowd so you can succeed in life

The cover of the magazine engages with the target audience as it is soft colours of the master head appeals to the audience also the main image of a teenager getting good results what the audience would want and want to be getting from going to Carmel Collage so this is very persuasive
